As educators, parents, and students began returning to in-person learning, USC Center Edge, Andrew Nikou Foundation, and IDEO launched The Education (Re)Open in March 2021 to answer the following question:
How might we strengthen school communities, as sites reopen,by highlighting solutions that reconnect people and enhance collective wellbeing, teaching, and learning?
From belonging-building activities to holistic sports programs to teacher wellbeing apps, we congratulate all the innovators who contributed their thoughtful solutions—from 41 states and 34 countries around the world. Congratulations to you!
A group of 30+ evaluators (including educators, school and district administrators, parents, and representatives from partner organizations) reviewed your incredible array of 256 submissions, and we’re thrilled to announce that final solutions have been chosen for the Solution Exchange—a public repository of innovative, achievable, and adaptable ideas to be potentially implemented in schools as early as Fall 2021.
In the coming weeks and months ahead, we’ll be working with schools and districts to advance implementation of selected solutions across the Los Angeles region, and later, beyond.
People have been clamoring for more solutions, iterations, and implementations—and we aim to deliver. So stay tuned this summer for the Solution Exchange’s unveiling as a standalone website, more stories about Re(Open) submitters and implementers, and get inspired about all the places these solutions could go.
